- IVF can lead to multiple pregnancy if more than one embryo is placed in the uterus.
- More than 8 million babies have been born across the world as a result of IVF and other assisted reproductive technologies.
- One complete cycle of IVF takes about 2 to 3 weeks.

What is IVF treatment?
IVF is a medical procedure done in a lab that includes combining an egg and a sperm in a laboratory dish and then transferring the resulting embryo into the uterus.
IVF treatment can help you overcome many causes of infertility, like blocked fallopian tubes, ovulation disorders, endometriosis, or male factor infertility.
Who is an ideal candidate?
An ideal candidate for IVF is someone who has difficulty conceiving naturally or with other fertility treatments. Some good candidates for IVF are:
- Women with blocked fallopian tubes, which prevent the egg and sperm from meeting.
- Women with ovulation disorders, such as polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), which affect the production and release of eggs.
- Women with endometriosis, which causes inflammation and scarring in the pelvic organs and can interfere with egg quality and implantation.
- Men with low-quality sperm in terms of motility, count or abnormal sperm shape which reduces the chances of fertilizing an egg.
Can IVF Treatment Cause Early Menopause?
No, IVF treatment does not cause early menopause. This is a common myth that has no scientific basis. IVF treatment uses fertility drugs to stimulate the ovaries to produce extra eggs in one cycle, but it does not affect the overall number of eggs that a woman has. IVF treatment does not deplete the egg supply or accelerate the natural decline of ovarian function.
IVF Treatment Procedure: Step-by-Step Overview
When you decide to go for an IVF Treatment at Allahbadia IVF, the best IVF center in Dubai, you will get clear guidance from our experienced specialists and full support from our staff throughout the IVF process.
Let's start!
IVF treatment procedure is a complex process that involves several steps. Here is a short overview of the main steps:
You will take fertility drugs to stimulate your ovaries to produce multiple mature eggs. You also will have regular blood tests and ultrasound scans to monitor your hormone levels and egg development.
You will have a small surgical procedure to collect the eggs from your ovaries. First, you will be given anesthesia or sedation to make you comfortable. Then, a thin needle is inserted through your vagina under transvaginal ultrasound guidance into your ovary to remove the eggs using gentle suction.
The eggs will be mixed with your partner’s sperm in a laboratory dish. The sperm can either be added to the dish with the eggs (conventional insemination) or injected directly into each egg (intracytoplasmic sperm injection or ICSI). The eggs and sperm are then stored in an incubator to allow fertilization to occur.
The fertilized eggs, now called embryos, are monitored for their growth and development. Some embryos may be tested for genetic abnormalities (preimplantation genetic testing or PGT) before being transferred to the uterus.
To increase the pregnancy chances we always do our Embryo Transfers in an HRT frozen-thaw cycle. That means routinely we freeze all embryos (preferably after biopsy) and always recommend the embryo transfer in a remote cycle with prepared endometrium.
At Allahbadia IVF, we recommend a Single Embryo Transfer (SET). WE also recommend that this embryo be tested by PGT-A for any chromosomal abnormalities before transfer.
You will have a blood test about two weeks after the embryo transfer to check if you are pregnant. If the test is positive, you will have an ultrasound scan about two weeks later to confirm the pregnancy and check the baby’s heartbeat.
